Percentage Change of Consumer Price Index for July 2020

Díli, 18 July 2020, The Director General of Statistics, Mr. Elias dos Santos Ferreira today release report of Consumer Price Index for July 2020. The Launching was attending by BCTL representatives, World Food Program delegation, Media, University Students from UNTL and UNITAL and also National Directors at GDS as well as representatives from line ministries. The event was held at the GDS REHA Conference Room, Caicoli, Dili.

All Groups percentage change rise (+0.1%) for the month of July 2020, compared to June 2020 also increased the very same (+0.1%). Percentage change of All Groups (+0.1%) and it was contributed from Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+0.4%), Housing rise (+0.2%) and also Clothing and Footwear (+0.1%). Group for Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance decreased (-0.5%), Transports (-0.3%) and also Alcohol and Tobacco (-0.3%) become as contrary change for an inflation to all groups. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage rise and give more impact were from sub-groups of Rice (+1.7%), Sugar, Marmalade, Honey, Chocolate and Confectionery (+1.8%), and Fruits (+0.1%). Vegetables (-0.8%), Milk, Cheese and Eggs (-1.0%), Oil and Fats (-0.3%) and Meat (-0.1%) become as contrary change for an inflation group of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage.

An annual percentage of CPI change rose (+0.8%) compared month of July 2020 – July 2019, was contributed by Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+1.6%), Education (+2.6%), Clothing and Footwear (+1.4%), Recreation and Culture (+0.4%). Alcohol and Tobacco (-0.3%), Transports (-1.9%), Housing (-0.9%) and Communication (-0.5%) become as opposing change for annual July 2020.

Tradable Inflation rose (+0.2%) and Non-Tradeable Inflation fell (-0.1%) compared in the month of July 2020 – June 2020.
