Business Activity Surveys
Business Activity Survey Reports
- The Business Activity Survey gathers important information on aspects of the Timor-Leste economy and provides source data for compilation of gross domestic product (GDP).
- The Business Activity Survey has been conducted annually since 2010 and produces statistics of two main types:
- Data on the structure and economic performance of the formal business sector in Timor-Leste. This includes business counts, employment aggregates (e.g. employment status, gender), a detailed breakdown of income and expenses items (by industry) and profit/loss items.
- Economic data items used in the compilation of the Timor-Leste national accounts, most particularly the calculation of gross domestic product. These data include output, intermediate use, industry value added, compensation of employees, gross operating surplus and capital expenditure.
- The data are also presented separately by selected industries and by geography (Dili/other Municipalities).
