National Accounts

Timor-Leste’s national accounts represent a comprehensive and consistent set of macroeconomic statistics for policymaking, analysis and research. The statistics are compiled in accordance with the most up-to-date international standards and classifications for compiling national and international accounts. These are the United Nations System of National Accounts 2008 (SNA 2008) and the International Monetary Fund Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual, 6 th Edition (BPM6).

The national accounts are compiled on an annual basis, with relevant series available in current and constant prices. The time series begins at 2000. As well as showing gross domestic product (GDP) and its components, compiled on the basis of expenditure (GDP(E)), production (GDP(P)), and income (GDP(I)), the statistics also show gross national income (GNI), gross national disposable income (GNDI), and gross national savings to give a complete picture of the relationship between production, income, and savings for Timor-Leste.

Comprehensive concepts, sources and methods documentation is contained within Timor-Leste’s National Accounts, 2004 to 2010 Volume II
