Percentage Change of Consumer Price Index and Producer Price Index in Timor-Leste
Díli, 21 January 2020, The Director General of Statistics, Mr. Elias dos Santos Ferreira today releases two news report such as; Consumer Price Index for December 2019 and Producer Price Index for quarterly 4, 2019. The Launching was attending by Dean of UNDIL University, BCTL representatives, NGOs of Luta Hamutuk and LAO hamutuk, Media, University Students and the National Directors at GDS as well as representatives from line ministries. The event was held at the GDS REHA Conference Room, Caicoli, Dili.
In the launching of the news report the General Director of Statistics Timor-Leste, Mr. Elias dos Santos Ferreira by telling to audience that, in Statistics we are providing also an excel data to those who are really wants to go further to do their own analysis in comapring the last months news reports on CPI and PPI. We also ready to assist in case you need our assistant on this regards. Well, I want to invite all of you to come and view together the outputs of the mention news repots as follow;
All Groups percentage change rise (+0.1%) for the month of December 2019, compared to November 2019 fell (-0.1%). Percentage change of All Groups (+0.1%) was contributed from Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+0.1%), Transports (+0.3%), and Clothing and Footwear (+0.1%). Alcohol and Tobacco (-0.2%) group was the largest offsetting movement of all groups inflation. A rise in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+0.1%) was driven by Milk, Cheese, and Eggs (+1.1%), Oil and Fats (+0.7%), Vegetables (+0.2%), Meat (+0.1%), and Fruits (+0.7%). Rice (-0.3%) and Sugar, Jam, Honey, Chocolate and Confectionery (-0.2%) sub-groups was the largest offsetting movement of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage. The price of rice decreased for this month was driven by imported rice which reflected by an international price of rice fell 1% in the last trimestral of December 2019.
Annual all groups percentage change rose (+0.3%) compared December 2019 to December 2018, was contributed by Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+0.2%), Alcohol and Tobacco (+0.8%), Education (+9.0%), Recreation and Culture (+0.3%), Transports (+0.1%) and Clothing and Footwear (+0.1%). The largest offsetting movement to the rose was Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance (-0.7%), Housing (-0.2%) and Communication (-1.1%) for annual December 2019.
Tradable Inflation rose (+0.1%) and Non-Tradeable Inflation fell (-0.1%) compared in December 2019 to November 2019.
Tradable Inflation fell (-0.1%) and Non-Tradeable inflation rose (+1.1%) compared in December 2019 to December 2018.

Producer Price Index (PPIs) and percentage changes in Industry Manufacturing for the total production product rise to (0.9%) for quarterly 4 in 2019, if we are compared with the quarterly 3 in 2019. In which a huge contributing affect is from production of coffee product that is getting increase to (3.3%) and also other productions product were (concreate blocks and printing) and we look at the production of beer product is remained unchanged.
Producer Price Index (PPIs) and percentage changes in Industry Accommodation for the total increase to (1.8%) for quarterly 4 in 2019, if we are compared with the quarterly 3 in 2019. In which a huge contributing affect is from accommodation that was hired from business increase to (9.0%) and rent also from households increase to (2.3%). There is also rent from nonresidents rise to (0.4%).
