Timor-Leste Survey of Living Standards (TL-SLS) 2023 Survey Clinics

TL-SLS 2023 is one of the biggest surveys conducted by INETL, I.P. and it will be used to support poverty reduction, develop a system of poverty monitoring, support poverty mapping, reweight CPI and inform the System of National Accounts about household consumption expenditure.

In relation to the preparation of TL-SLS 2023, the technical team of TL-SLS 2023 from INETL, I.P and World Bank LSMS Team from Jakarta, Washington and Rome, were participated in the “TL-SLS 2023 Survey Clinics” at the World Bank Timor-Leste office from 15- 23 May 2023.

The objective of the TL-SLS 2023 Survey Clinics was to discuss and clarify issues related to the questionnaire, sampling frame, and fieldwork plan of TL-SLS 2023.

During the one-week discussion, the team were able to review all the topic covered in the TL-SLS questionnaire such as household information, housing, access to facilities and technology, household consumption, education, health, agriculture and others. On the last day of the survey clinics, INETL, I.P. team invited the World Bank team to visit INETL, I.P. office and went on a field trip to Manatuto and Baucau. The field trip objective was to show the World Bank team various types of living conditions, agriculture products and other conditions of Timor-Leste related to the TL-SLS 2023 questionnaire.
